North Kansas City
North Kansas City is a neighboring district of Kansas City. It used to be a suburb of Kansas City but is now nearly surrounded by the largest city in the state of Missouri. It is a relatively small city, both in population and land area. As of 2007, the estimated daytime population is 25,000. The city has a total area of 4.6 square miles.
Despite its small area, North Kansas City has become a hub for big businesses, from manufacturing to finance. Over the years, the city has also developed its recreational and entertainment districts and has attracted a sizable number of tourists and visitors as well. With the progress of the city comes modern development in infrastructures. North Kansas City currently has a $10 million high speed fiber optic system that allows for easy Internet access at speeds of up to one gigabyte per second.
North Kansas City is also home to several upscale hotels and restaurants. These facilities cater to tourists and business travelers as well as residents who now have greater disposable incomes. The city has one of the lowest taxes for businesses in the region, thus encouraging the influx of new businesses and the growth of existing ones.
