Kansas City TV
Kansas City Public Television is one of the local TV stations operating in Kansas City, Missouri. From its beginnings in the instructional TV format under the Kansas City Missouri School District, the station developed into a community licensed public TV station with a more diverse programming after it came under the management of local civic leaders.
Kansas City Public TV currently broadcasts on Channel 19. It covers more than 900,000 households in the Kansas City area and has an approximate weekly viewership of about 450,000 homes. This Kansas City TV station admittedly has limited programming compared with other commercial TV stations in the area, with only more than 60 hours of programs a week.
Kansas City Public TV is managed by a volunteer board of directors. Its production facilities are located at 125 East Thirty-First Street, Kansas City while its broadcast tower is at 2100 Stark.
